Tune in Tuesday (4)

Tune in Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Greads

I've posted this song once before on this blog but I want to post it again for this little meme.

It's a favorite and I just can't get enough of this song.

Also, it has a lot of meaning to me as it is written for a very intense scene in my second book in the Broken Installments called Taken. And I can't wait to get to that scene.

So here is Cosmic love by Florance and the Machine

Happy Listening!

Doing some reorganizing.....Books

So I have this small black wood bookcase that holds many books for me but just recently I found out that by placing them on there sides there's hell of a lot more room than by standing them straight up.

So the past week I've been changing the style of placing my books, on their shelving, on their side and in alphabetical order. And between you and me, I think it looks better that way.

Overall view- that black line is covering my old high schools name (so I don't get any stalkers, if you know what I mean) :)

And here's a picture of my third shelf

Fully read books on the left and Not fully read on the right

Now that I got it finsihed (and the dust messing up my already sore throat) I'm going to rest. Been sick for the past few days (since saturday) and this was a test of my strength. Getting there.

Oh, and don't think that's all my books. I've got many, many more around the various rooms I use.

Happy Friday Everybody!

End product (1)

So, just last night I finished (though stressed and been pricked to many times to truly say) my first sewing project, Pajama Pants, for my class.

Now, silly me, I forgot to document ever step but I promise next time(when I start my second project for class, which is next week) I'll make sure I do so.

I turned it in today but she gave them back so I'm not for sure if she graded them or what. Humph, oh well. She's the teacher she knows what shes doing.

But overall the experiences was great and my mom can't wait till I can start making them for her. And, neither can I, however I'm packed full with school right now (mostly my crazy days are Monday's & Wednesday's).

I had fun making them and once I got the hang of it I was moving in no time. Hopefully next time I won't prick myself as much.

Love & Peace

How cool.....Indie Author love towards Reviewers

So, late last night I decided to pop over to a favorite indie author's blog of mine and found out he posted about some resent finds for his book Super Zombie Juice Mega Bomb- mainly reviews and he commented on the ones he liked. And, surprise, he happen to talk about mine. *screams* How cool is that.

And I thought it was only cool that he followed me, but, talking about my blog on his is double the awesomeness than before.

Now, the indie author is MJA Ware and his book is Super Zombie Juice Mega Bomb and you can check out my review for it here.

I, of course, was filled with excitement when finding this and I just had to show it off to my family. They all were very proud of me. :) I left a comment and found out there will be a second to this book and I just can't wait.

So, enough rambling, I'll show you the parts where he talked about me but if you want to see the whole blog you can click- here.

Google Digs Up New Reviews & Deranged Zombie Teddy Bears post by MJA Ware

"In theory Google News Alerts tells you anytime someone posts news, a blog, or even a new webpage about you or your book.

However, as I recently figured out, the alerts sometimes miss blogs (and other pages) that the Google search engine picks up. I was recently searching for an old review of SZJMB on Google when I noticed pages that I had never received alerts for.

This lead me to search Google for undiscovered links to Super Zombie Juice. Most turned out to be worthless, mostly Amazon affiliate links. But some were Gold. I found two reviews and two mention of my book in blogs!

First, I found a great blog: Paranormal Sisters. They gave SZJMB 4.5 stars and wrote a great review. Here's a quote:

"Over all I totally loved and am happy with how it ended, with a slice of sense of humor. But I want more. Whether more of these characters or more of MJA Ware writing, which is lucky we get two bonus short stories along with this book. Yay. "

My reply is: Don't worry Dashley, book 2 is coming along! If you've never heard of this blog check it out, it has some great reviews and they provide updates on Free paranormal Kindle books."
How cool. Plus, I just had to print out the page of his post so here's a few pics-

You know when you first open a business and when you get that first dollar bill you just have to frame it.....

....well, this is how I feel. I'll be putting it in a paper protector for my blog binder. :)

When I first read it I was filled with excitement and blushed with what he had to say. So, Thank You MJA Ware.
Some how I knew this year was going to be great, but, I never knew how great.
Definitely a top moment for 2012.
Love & Peace
My other blog I've talked about before is Paranormal Sisters.
For those of you who don't know me personally or haven't been here since the beginning where I posted about this new blog. Well, it's mainly a book reviewing blog but you can find other things there, like, Movie reviews plus some talk about music. A second thing that dominates my life.
Also, it is finally co-hosted with my sister Tahsa, so you'll be seeing her more around the blog. Woohoo!
Happy Life Everybody!

Play Review: Oedipus the King

One of the greatest of the classic Greek tragedies and a masterpiece of dramatic construction. Catastrophe ensues when King Oedipus discovers he has inadvertently killed his father and married his mother. Masterly use of dramatic irony greatly intensifies impact of agonizing events.

I've never been one to care for reading plays, especially the older ones that are worldly famous, but since it's mandatory to do so in my Styles of Acting class, I've actually come to the liking of them. I think it helps that we also talk about them in class, so it makes for a more interesting read.

So, the basic shall we. Well, Oedipus....King of Thebes...comes out of his palace to find towns people swarming the area. Thebes is still very sick, even though he got rid of the Sphinx, it's still pretty bad so the people are there to ask for his help. What they don't know yet is that he has already sent out his "brother-in-law" to ask the oracle of Apollo what they shall do.

And when he gets back this is when things get interesting. A blind seer comes into the picture on Creon, the brother-in-law, request and tells Oedipus what they should do. Look for the killer of the king before him. Oedipus saw that the seer had more to say but he didn't want to, all it would do is bring hell upon the Palace. But against his will the seer spoke the unspoken words.

I don't want to say anymore, but, it's amazing....and a little disturbing. You can tell by the summary above. But besides that, it's great. There's a little bit of gore at the end and this is truly a tragedy at it's best. And the discussions we had in class were wonderful.

This is a great show of the kind of power the Greek Gods had over it's people.

I love when new ideas come

For me I can get inspiration from anything. From a movie, something someone said, nature, etc.....

Like, just the beginning of this week I popped over to Selena Gomez's song Hit the Lights and a scene where she's walking backwards in a corn field sprung up an story idea. A short story idea.

And just Thursday I was thinking about the characters and their names on my way home from school and I fell even more in love with the idea. I can't tell you the names of the characters, it's kind of a surprise. Because they're so dear to my heart (let's just say, these people mean a lot to me) and they helped fuel the story line even more. Completely giving me full vision of the story. *goosebumps*

I can't wait to start working on it. However, I feel like doing an anthology. I'm not for sure with the same theme has the short story idea I'm talking about because I don't have many and the people I want to ask may not. I don't know.

Though I want to. Anthology, that is.

This short story idea is contemporary. It's about young adult love and I'm excited. I'll work hard to make it not sound cheesy because, well, I've never truly been in love before. Not the love that the characters are in.

Right now it's going to be told in male perspective. I'm not sure if there will be two point of views just yet. The other would of course be in the girls. Will see as I start writing it.

To be continue....

Love & Peace

Sewing Project #1

On Monday I found out in my class we're going to be working on our first sewing project for the semester.

We're doing pajama pants and I'm excited. On Wednesday we met up in Joann's to pick our patterns and fabric. Of course I saw many patterns I loved but I'll have to get them another time.

The picture above, the blue pants, is the pattern I'll be doing with this kind of fabric.

It's cotton and it's just my style. When I saw it I knew that that was it and nothing else was going to satisfy me.

Here's another pattern I feel in love with, which also happens to be my first choice. However the teacher saw there were pockets and asked if I ever sewn before. Nope, sip, zero. So she thought I should look for another pattern.

Although, I think you can just not do the pockets cause in the picture, the girl with the black strip and poka dots, didn't have any. But whatever. I still bought it.

My mom can't wait for me to learn how to make them because she loves pajama pants. She practically lives in them, well, when she's home that is. So, when I do I can make them for her and my sister.

That's it for now. I'll keep you posted on my first sewing adventure...

Love & Peace,

Changes....once more

I decided to change the theme of this blog once again.

Instead of just talking about my bookish stuff I want to talk about what I experience, since I'll be learning a lot this year. Right now I'm in spring semester and I'm learning Make Up for Theatre, Styles of Acting, and Beginning Sewing.

So, I'll be showing you my victims of Make up, my garments I learn to make from Sewing and I'll probably talk about the plays I read in Styles of acting.

Plus, I'll talk about overall- my life- on this blog. My wonderful experiences. And all the great I hope to accomplish.

So I hope the few readers will stay and hope to make that number grow just a little bit.

Happy Life Everybody and I can't wait to share my experiences with you...

Bookish 2012 goals

This morning I came up with a few goals I hope to accomplish. Only three right now.

First goal, is to get my short horror story out there on kindle and what not so you guys can have a taste for my writing before I self publish my big series

Second goal, is to publish my first novel, Broken, before my 20th birthday coming on Dec 1. I'll copyright it, see how much it is for cost to get it out in paperback and then get the cover designed done by my favorite self publish author of mine, Keary Taylor.

I already know what it's going to look like so when my friend has time I'll ask if she can draw it out. Also before I get it copyrighted my mother will be (finally) able to sit down and read it mostly because she's going to have knee surgery so in her time off she'll have loads of time to get to it. :)

Third goal, is to get close to finishing the second book in the series done. That if people love the first then they won't have to wait a whole year for the next. Hopefully. I'm already half way done and so forth. Got more written than typed.

So crosses fingers and I can't wait to show you guys what I do accomplish.
