Writing Update: New Last Name & Cover Reveal Sign-Ups

Hey Everybody!

This post is waaaaaaay overdue. I got married to my best friend January 3rd and now I have a new last name! I'm now going by as Ashley Ehlers.....you have no idea how amazing that is for me! We've both been waiting a long time for that day. So, so long Ashley Hill.....Helloooo, Ashley Ehlers! *squeal*! So to my fans, look out for this change.

I've been rebranding and I finally have my own author Twitter and Facebook pages separate from my blog pages, you have no idea how good it feels! Here are the links to them, Twitter & Facebook. I also have an author photo, what do you think?

With a new bio-

Newly married Ashley Ehlers now resides in San Diego with her husband who is currently stationed there. There in their cozy two bedroom apartment she finds the peace she’s been looking for. As they settle into the new chapters of their lives Ashley’s Muses are growing stronger than ever as inspiration is around every corner in her latest adventure.

A lot of wonderful changes have been happening this year, I've never been happier!

Now onto more good news! The Gatherers, prequel to The Harvesters, is almost done and will be publishing April 25th, 2015! Who's excited? Xpresso Book Tours is hosting a Cover Reveal for The Gatherers and you can Sign-Up here!

Writing Update: Editing and working on a new WIP

While dog sitting this month I finally grabbed a red pen and started editing The Gatherers, prequel to The Harvesters. I still do (hope) plan to publish it January 23rd, so the two weeks before that date I'll be finishing editing and making it perfect till I think it's ready for publication because I don't think I'll have any relaxing moments next month to get to that nitty gritty stuff. Instead I'll be working on the little details, final head count, turning in final payments, wine tasting, make-up trails, bridal shower, packing, engagement photos, and all the other nitty gritty stuff for my wedding to my hero January 3rd.

So for those first two weeks at my new home and in a new city, I'll finally have some relaxing moments to get back into the swing of things. What better way than to publish a book right haha. Unless something changes or my cover artist doesn't get back to me with my new last name on the cover, then I'll publish it early February. Maybe Valentine's Day? Because that plays a part in the book. We'll see, but I'm really hoping to keep the original publication date.

Also, started on another New Adult short story. It's based off an idea I got a year ago. I started writing it back then but once I wrote the opening scene I just wasn't feeling it anymore. But I got inspired to have another go at it again because an indie publishing house is looking for analogy submissions and that day I saw that post something just clicked and I typed out over 2,500 words. A record for me baby!

I haven't gotten back to it but I miss writing for it so much and I'm just dying to get back to it again! Submissions end in February so we'll see if I can finish in time! If not, then I'll no doubt publish it on my own because it's definitely something I want to share with you guys! And to me, I think it's definitely the darkest thing I've ever written before (if that's possible), I'm so excited! With growing within my writing, I think that's helped a lot and it's taking this story where it's supposed to go and where I wanted it to go a year ago. And I think it was meant to be written now instead of last year because of that reason. The words were just flying and after writing over 2000 words that day, I felt truly amazing and like I was flying with seeing how much I accomplished! It's a fabulous feeling and I can't wait to get back to it!

So, if I do end up publishing it on my own we could be looking at a summer release? Fingers crossed!

Writing Update: The Harvesters Second Edition is up and running!

So not that long ago I told you guys I was updating/editing The Harvesters, right? Well, guess what?! I finished editing it yesterday and pushed the publish button last night! It's now available for purchase! Though ignore the Look Inside part, for some reason that has yet to update *shrugs*. But I promise, the updated one is in there haha!

The Harvesters (Harvesting #1)While I was rereading it over I was like, "I couldn't believe I was letting people read this!" It was so bad! The writing, not the story haha. I've grown so much in my writing since I've published this two years ago, it's quite breathtaking to me and I'm so proud of myself! Now you can enjoy the story instead of just seeing the potential of a story. You can see that I'm actually a pretty good writer....I hope, haha.

This is who I am, I've grown and I hope you enjoy it! If you read my story before I would love for you to check out the updated version! If you were apart of my Blog Tour, sometime this week I'll be sending you a copy!

I hope you guys can see how much I've grown and that my writing of now will make you a fan or a bigger fan! Because I have loads of upcoming publications on the way!

When she finds her boyfriend shackled to a white metal table Ashley fears for the worst.

On a small road trip of dropping off a package for Jason’s father, the young couple never thought they would be running for their lives. Running away from supposedly friends whom in turn to be a family of harvesters.

Human harvesters and they're looking for something specific. And Ashley just might be the perfect match
.

Stay tuned!

Writing Update: I won't be publishing this year

I know I promised a lot of you that I would be publishing earlier this year, but things changed. I went to beauty school for four months for my manicuring hours, so my writing kind of went on the back burner as I was working towards a step of starting a career for me. Of course it was something creative cause my soul is only happy when I'm being creative in one form or another.

I graduated in June, I've been getting myself back to normal and practicing my trade. Also been planning a wedding but nothing is getting in the way of me writing anymore (you have no idea how wonderful that feels!). As things have settled down I've realized maybe why certain things didn't go my way was because I was meant to concentrate on me getting ready for the life I'm going to start with my Marine and my writing. And have I been writing!

I've finished the rewritten first draft of The Gatherers (added more depth and detail to it), prequel to The Harvesters. I have a cover for it too but I plan to publish it January 23rd, 2015. Why? Because I want it well prepared and I would like to take over the blogging world with a cover reveal through Xpresso Book Tours. Most of you should know how power it is to work with Giselle, she gets the audience and the bloggers and that's what I want. I know if it wasn't for her none of you would probably have the success you've had. I know I wouldn't have met some of you wonderful authors if it wasn't for her. So I want to do the same. I believe in my stories and want to give them the best chances and the best one is to work with Giselle.

So to do this I have to save up and I plan to do the cover reveal in January, I'll go to Giselle in December. I hope for my readers of the first book that the couple years for the next in the series was worth the wait. I truly think it was cause I've grown so much! And I'm even going back to edit The Harvesters, I see how badly it was. Not the story but how I wrote it. It was rough but all first published works are haha.

So in the next four or so months, to get ready for the release of The Gatherers, I'll be editing both stories and working to save up (won't be hard now that I've written down the numbers and the time I have). I'll also be writing Needs of an Incubus, sequel to Wants of an Incubus.

I've got over 5000 words so far and not even half way done yet, you have no idea how excited I am by that! Annabelle has a bigger story to tell and there'll probably be more to the series, instead of it being just a 2 part series liked I originally planned. However, when I said that I didn't have the whole story in my head. I'm one that writes while still coming up with the story haha. So when I'm done with it I'll let you know how many more afterwards.

My goals for Needs of an Incubus is to publish it in March and by the looks of it, it'll be no problem. I don't know when in March yet but once I do you'll be the first to know. But you can add it on your Goodreads now, same with The Gatherers. For Needs of an Incubus I don't have a summary just yet but when I do, I'll update you guys. I'm so excited!

So I hope you guys understand why I'm not publishing this year. I just don't want to rush it and I've learned from my last two publications. I want to do these ones right and my future ones done the way they should be done, by being promoted with a women that'll help me take over the blogging community. To help get my stories noticed. They deserve a chance. This isn't just a one time thing. When I write my soul is happy. Seeing self-published authors whipping them out one after the other inspires me and I hope one day I'll have my chance to do that too. With all the story ideas I get there's no doubt in my mind that that'll happen and with an amazing man by my side, I know this dream of mine will come true.

So that's why I'm not publishing this year.

I'll be keeping you guys more updated than normal and the next time you see me publishing it'll be under a different name, Ashley Ehlers instead of Ashley Hill, cause I'm getting married!

Also, here's a little insider. This song has helped me write more constantly and helped me through a very emotional scene between Annabelle and Henry.

Have not seen that movie yet but I love the music! haha

Stay tuned!

As the God of Fertility, Pan is used to maidens flocking in droves to his pastures. So when Syrinx denies him, he's determined to win the one that got away. He poses as a mortal to get close to her, but he doesn't count on falling hard for his conquest—hard enough to make a life and stay.

But Syrinx is falling in love with a man that doesn't exist. Can Pan hide his identity forever, or will the truth tear them apart?

~Guest Post~

Top 5 Goddesses
I’ve been asked to write a post about Goddesses in honor of my book Pan’s Conquest which just released this week! My book features the Goddess of Chastity, Syrinx. We are all our own goddess of something, and I’d love to hear in the comments section which goddess everyone following this blog is. I consider myself the Goddess of Impatience! Or perhaps, the Goddess of Procrastination!
In honor of Goddesses, I’d like to share my top five goddess’s with you and why I chose them:
#1. Gaia : The personification of Earth. Gaia is the great mother of all, creator and giver of birth to Earth and its universe. I like to think of her as mother nature. If she were here today, she’d definitely be an environmentalist. I’m dreaming up a book about her as I write this blog.
#2. Athena: The goddess of wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law and justice, just warfare, mathematics, strength, strategy, the arts, crafts, and skill. So she’s basically good at everything. I especially love how this goddess is a strong and smart woman who led troops in battle. How cool is that? Out of all the goddesses, I think I’d chose to be Athena.
#3. Aura: The divine personification of the breeze. She is depicted as a billowing sail in an overhead arch. Not only does she have a cool name, but I’d like to think she can transport herself in an instant, reappear and disappear. The breeze can be warm, but it can also be icy cold and fickle. I can only imagine what her personality would be like! Probably tempestuous.
#4. Hebe: The goddess of youth. Even though her name is kind of funny, think about the power she has. In mythology, she grants a god’s wish to become young again in order to fight a formidable foe. So she’s the fountain of youth. She’ll probably never have wrinkles, and her metabolism will never slow down- like mine when I reached thirty. I used to be able to eat a whole bag of cookies, and now if I eat one, it goes right to my belly.
#5. Syrinx: The Goddess of Chastity. I’ve always liked Syrinx because of the flute solo I play by Debussy. You’d have to hear the solo in order to fully appreciate it. You can listen here on you tube:
It’s sad, longing, mysterious- the music made me wonder exactly what Syrinx was thinking. As the story goes, Syrinx turns herself into a reed to avoid Pan’s temptations. Pan cuts the reed and makes his flute. The story is a sad one, and has always stayed with me over all these years- enough that I decided to make my own ending and give them both a HEA (Happily Ever After.) Please check out my book, Pan’s Conquest, available for a limited time for only $.99!
Thanks for reading!

~About The Author~

Aubrie Dionne

Aubrie grew up watching the original Star Wars movies over and over again until she could recite and reenact every single scene in her backyard. She also loved The Goonies, Star Trek the Next Generation-favorite character was Data by far-, and Indiana Jones. But, her all time favorite movie was The Last Unicorn. She still wonders why the unicorn decided to change back to a unicorn in the end.

Aubrie wrote in her junior high yearbook that she wanted to be "A concert flutist" when she grew up. When she made that happen, she decided one career was not enough and embarked as a fantasy, sci fi author. Two careers seems to keep her busy. For now.

Now for the professional bio:

Aubrie Dionne is an author and flutist in New England. Her writings have appeared in Mindflights, Niteblade, Silver Blade, Emerald Tales, Hazard Cat, Moon Drenched Fables, A Fly in Amber, and Aurora Wolf. Her books are published by Entangled Publishing, Lyrical Press, and Gypsy Shadow Publishing. She recently signed her YA sci fi novel with Inkspell Publishing titled: Colonization: Paradise Reclaimed, which will release in October 2012. When she's not writing, Aubrie teaches flute and plays in orchestras. She's a big Star Trek TNG fan, as well as Star Wars and Serenity.
